This relates to the most common problem in the printing industry, and that is poor housekeeping. I have lost count of the amount of times I have had to contact clients and ask them to supply their missing pictures, missing fonts, or ask which file I was meant to use. Contacting the customer inevitably delays turnaround. Don’t get me wrong, we all make mistakes, but when I consistently saw the same mistakes from the same customer, it was obvious what was going on – they were poor housekeepers. Let me put it in simple terms: good housekeeping = faster turnaround on artwork.
